PRINCIPAL ENGINEER IN DERBYSHIRE

Principal Engineer required with proven experience of integrating powertrain/propulsion systems into a range of vehicle types (ideally, off-highway, construction vehicles).

Principal Engineer Role:

The Propulsion Team are responsible for development of generator sets (gensets), engines, transmissions and the vehicle integration of powertrain components. We need to expand our client`s team to include an additional Principal Engineer to lead powertrain integration projects.

Within this role you will be responsible for:
Design and development of mounting systems, induction system, cooling system, exhaust systems;
Integration of engine, transmission, axles, driveshafts, aftertreatment.

As a systems engineer you will be responsible for all stages of development from concept to flawless launch, meeting all regulatory, quality, cost and timing requirements.

You`ll lead a small team of Engineers, ensuring they deliver the work programme from specification through analysis, testing and development, to your final sign-off, as well as supporting in-house quality and manufacturing service teams to resolve complex technical issues.

Principal Engineer Requirements:

Your passion for engineering, your drive to lead in a hands-on style and your degree in an associated mechanical engineering discipline are all essential factors.
Our client is also looking for an outstanding grasp of the product development cycle and expertise in system and component specification, design, development and sign-off using relevant tools.
An experienced leader with technical gravitas, you`ll have excellent communication skills and be able to manage supplier relationships equally brilliantly. Pressure, tight deadlines and exacting standards are all a part of the job, so you`re going to need to be the kind of person who relishes them.
The flexibility to travel to other sites when necessary is also a must.
