Seeking a talented Controls Engineer who is looking for an opportunity to further their career at the cutting edge of powertrain electronics and control systems.

Roles are based at a new multi-million pound engine research and development centre in Derbyshire.

Senior Controls Engineer Role:

As a result of growing demands for an award-winning range of diesel engines and an increasing number of exciting engine development programmes in gaseous fuels (H2 and CNG), we are seeking a talented Controls Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be expected to demonstrate competency in the control system development and parameterisation of IC powertrain systems, ideally in the medium duty off highway sector. Typical responsibilities include;
Engine controller integration with machine systems (after treatment, transmission, immobiliser, dashboard, telematics, FOTA, security)
Sensor and Actuator component engineering across engine and after treatment systems
Control algorithm development, requirements capture and validation
Calibration submission, review and database management process
Diagnostic fault system configuration, test and management
First line support for our colleagues in Service
Diagnostic tool configuration and validation (desirable but not essential)
Supervision of junior engineers & technicians

Senior Controls Engineer Requirements:

A strong engineering background and a Degree/HND in Electronic/Systems Engineering or equivalent
Experience of diesel or gasoline engine fundamentals, automotive electric/electronic systems, including experience of Tier I supplier engine / after treatment control systems, interface tools & software documentation
A firm grasp of automotive electric/electronics fundamentals (ECU, sensor, actuators, CAN bus based communications and diagnostics)
Experience in developing test procedures to facilitate the continual improvement of departmental effectiveness is desirable
