Principal Mechanical Design Engineer opportunity to join the Materials Handling & Access Team. You will lead a small but dynamic team, working to ensure that the Rotating Telehandler product goes from strength to strength in a highly competitive market and will give you the unique chance of driving engineering change in the business for one of the most sophisticated products our Client designs and builds. This is a fast paced and varied environment, which will challenge your design talents, requires a willingness to learn and for you to think differently to find robust solutions and new ideas to further improve the product.

Principal Design Engineer Role:

Lead small but vital product improvement projects, ensuring the delivery matches the objective.
Lead design change and product update activities with multi-disciplined team.
Lead and coordinate products design updates for our large ¬Ďfleet operator` customer needs.
Simultaneous Engineering: Design for assembly, manufacture and service.
Formal design documentation, creation and maintenance; PLM, DFMEA, DVPSOR
Engineering Interface with Sale & Marketing, Operations, Service and Quality teams
Leading and mentoring a small but highly essential offshore design team.

Principal Design Engineer Requirements:

Unigraphics (other CAD considered) and PLM operator, with a clear understanding of change management processes would be highly desirable.
Highly adept at BOM structuring and a strong understanding of production system interactions.
Must be able to work to and show competency in; on/off highway product compliance, legislation and standards requirements.
Educated to HNC or Degree level in an Engineering subject.
Demonstrate sound grasp of engineering principles with a logical approach to problem solving.
Experience of off-highway or agricultural machines would be an advantage.
Be able to work to deadlines and deliver on time.
Self-starting and ability to make things happen.
Demonstrate the ability to manage both internal and external suppliers.
Be able to demonstrate leadership qualities and ownership of end-to-end projects.
Have a strong desire to invent the future and lead rather than follow.
Have a high level of commitment, flexibility and enthusiasm as well as a sense of URGENCY.
