HYDRAULICS ENGINEER IN STAFFORDSHIRE

Hydraulics Engineer working within the Hydraulic and Structures team, with a focus on Hydraulic system/Structures/ Bodywork and Mouldings design.

Leading a small team of engineers (UK & IDC) to take System/Structural/ Styling and functional requirements from the product team specification and robustly deliver the required detailed solution.
Be responsible for writing and checking supplier specification requirements/concepting and initial structural analysis/concepting body panels and any plastic tanks,, ensuring the chosen system, meets all Legislation, Customer Requirements, and system Cost Targets.
Produce and check hydraulic/structural calculations to ensure robust system design.
To take the lead in preparing documentation and presentations for Sub Sections of the Technical Reviews (TR Process).
Working with Industrial design to take the aesthetic requirement to an engineered solution.
To use system simulation and test rigs to provide proof of concept.
To ensure all hydraulic DFMEA are conducted and completed robustly.
Ensure Load cases and FEA is performed, and results are properly reviewed with the Structure specialists.
Ensure Fit for Purpose documentation is completed, and any testing requirements is fed back to the product team, and development team to be added to main project timing.
To ensure Project Parts tracker is up to date and keep the team on time for delivery to meet NPIP timing.
Produce detailed design layouts, CAD models and design drawings using the CAD system then structure / release to production using PLM.
Approve ePI release, ensure technical drawings have correct information to control any deviations of the system
Resolve engineering issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
Work with suppliers to deliver prototype and PPAP parts to schedule, meeting quality and performance requirements.
