ENGINEERING MANAGER IN STAFFORDSHIRE

Engineering Manager to help create and lead the design of both Backhoe Loader and Site Dumper developments, shaping the future of both product ranges Worldwide. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will join a focused Global team working on the design and development of new products and innovative solutions.

Engineering Manager Role:

Creation of the R&D budget for the engineering team and management of that team to deliver to targets and within budget expectations.
Manage the delivery of a number of new product innovations on the Backhoe Loader product range.
Drive the delivery of your teams` part of the Group VAVE programme not only within engineering but the broader team across other departments of the business.
Champion our C02 reduction / fuel efficiency improvement initiatives over the next 5 years through real product technology advances and delivery on both the Backhoe Loader and Site Dumper product ranges.
Develop a product strategy for the Site Dumper range and drive the engineering teams to deliver to that vision.
Lead technical reviews of systems at a machine integration level to ensure system design and specification is in line with customer or business requirements.
Take responsibility for ensuring that the overall technical delivery of the finished product meets customer and business requirements and ensure the products are complete and ready for Engineering Sign Off.
Day to day running of projects and supervision of any engineers allocated for project work.
Co-ordination of Project timings and resource and presentation of overall engineering status to Senior Management.
Prepare, update, issue and checking design control documents such as Engineering change notes timing plan, cost management, etc.

Engineering Manager Requirements:

Build a team that will champion the needs of customers and deliver fantastic new products.
Be prepared to make critical technical and commercial decisions on multiple projects to achieve the desired outcome for best quality, performance and delivery.
Line management responsibility for the product engineering team and leadership of the extended category engineering team as they carry out detail system design tasks.
Ability to interface with other members of the larger team in the Group Engineering structure and lead design reviews across multiple areas.
Willingness to take the lead for technical decision making and ensure the needs of our customer are always fully understood and delivered.
Good and logical problem-solving techniques.
Self-starting and ability to make things happen and motivate a broader team to pull in the same direction.
Ideally you will have a strong engineering background, possessing chartership accreditation, a degree and minimum of 10 years` relevant experience.
A good engineering knowledge of a range of off highway vehicle systems and their strengths and weaknesses.
Be able to demonstrate a high level of commitment, flexibility and enthusiasm as well as a sense of urgency and ownership of projects.
Ability to communicate and present progress to Senior members of the Executive leadership team with clarity and brevity, whilst providing recommendations on strategic direction where required.
Ability to communicate clearly, interfacing with the immediate engineering team as well as the wider team; including the Indian Design Centre, Manufacturing, Service and Marketing, is a pre-requisite.
Experience in Agricultural or Construction Machines / Attachments would be preferable but not essential.
Travel on business will be required periodically.
